RAWR! (It means "I love you!")

Can you believe this bean bag Grandma (Chris' side) made for Liam?! This is awesome! We're doing a themed room - monster, in case the big red obvious clue in the picture above didn't do it for you - and Chrissa made him a blanket with a hilarious monster print on it. It's going to be awesome.

On a related but separate note, Chrissa and I have taken a very serious step in our parenthood: we put plastic locks on the cabinets. We are honored to have taken such a rite of passage.

Liam's bed

Nothing brings out my self-criticism like a good old fashioned building project. We're trying to save money on wood, so we went with the cheapest crap at the back of Home Depot (see how much we love, you son?!) and I already went and sold my excellent mitre saw to beef up our savings for the next kid, so I had to borrow tools. Long story short - no proper tools + inferior wood + incompetence = many mistakes. I think we pulled it out, though. Chrissa helped me interpret the directions (what I read of them) and we're done with the building - except side rails. We filled in the nail gun and screw holes with wood filler, so once we sand and paint it'll be ready for our little boy.

Will post pics tomorrow. (Or later.)

Chrissa should post something about her rag quilt - it's an excellent specimen.

The new blog...

Wellllllllllllllllllllll...

I stopped blogging. Awhile ago. I used to have a blog that was kind of boring when you looked at it but knock-your-socks-off good when you read it. Some posts, at least. But then I went and became a dad and I, quite sensibly, abandoned blogging. Don't worry, though, this isn't one of those "Oh when I became a parent, life changed for me and you're going to sit and listen to every 'what,' 'how,' and 'why.'" Of course, though, life does change when you became a father. But why should that stop me from blogging?

It should!

It should stop me from blogging. But it doesn't stop us from blogging. I do have a wonderful family. And instead of pushing the pictures and stories in front of your face when you meet me, my infinitely smarter wife, Chrissa, suggested that we blog together. No politics, religion, philosophy, or anything else for the subject matter, though, just the family.

Does Liam want to go to bed?

We thought this one would be fun to share. He doesn't really say 'no' to this question anymore, so we think he knows we're playing with him. Enjoy!
